Cervical spondylosis and ossified posterior longitudinal ligaments

What are cervical spondylosis and ossified posterior longitudinal ligaments?

Cervical spondylosis is a condition in which the bone at the back of the neck becomes deformed by age and presses against the spinal cord, causing a variety of symptoms. An ossified posterior longitudinal ligament is a very similar condition; the only difference is that the spinal cord is compressed not by bone, but by a ligament that has become hardened like bone.
